Should I turn my machines on prior to the first day of school?

Absolutely YES!   We strongly encourage you to turn them on, log in, and leave them while you are working in your classroom.  If they have been off all summer long, they are missing several months worth of updates… which can take some time, so it is helpful to turn them on prior to the first day of school.

At Crossroads Park, where they just received new computers with Windows 7, it is also highly encouraged to turn your machines on prior to the start of school.  The very first log in on your new machine will take longer than normal – as printers will be installed during this first log in.
