We have received a request from the district’s Administrative Leadership Team to have adjustments made to Google Hangouts. Staring today: Google Hangouts will be turned off for all K thru 8th grade students in the district. Hangouts will still be available for all 9th thru 12th grade students, as well as for staff.

Might I ask what prompted this change? I know my student was using a lot lately.
Hi David, I believe our School Community Relations Department is working on a communication to parents regarding the why. I believe the issue is about a high level of non-academic usage. However, for students who were using it for communication/collaboration of academic issues, I would encourage them to contact their building principal, to request a time where they can demonstrate how they were using the tool.
