Teachers: did you know you about the contact log within Campus?

Did you know that there’s a contact log available in Campus, specifically for tracking student/parent communications?

1

Q1. Who has access to this?
A1.  Only teachers and administrators.

Q2. Is there actually information already in the contact log?
A2.  Yes, for some students.  Several schools have been using it over the past few years.  We’ve also seen some schools that were using a different tab within Campus for this type of information – so we’ve copied all of that same information to this one location.

Q3. Is there a requirement to record certain things?
A3. No.  There is no requirements related to this tab – it’s just a tool that’s available for those who need a way to keep track of key communications.  It’s also helpful for easily passing on information to future teachers.

Are missing assignment notifications helping?

About a year ago, we started using Infinite Campus to send out weekly email notifications to both parents and students that had active missing assignments.  Are the notifications helping?

How have parents reacted to the notices?
Although a very limited number of parents have requested not to receive the notices – most have expressed appreciation for the weekly notices that help keep track of missing assignments.  In fact, many have reported that this is one of their favorite features of the system.

If parents feel that it’s working and helping them… then how are the numbers?  Are notifications driving down the numbers?
Although families are reporting appreciation for the notices, the overall number of missing assignments is still comparable to previous semester (about 12,000 missing assignments per semester on average).

Here’s a look at the specifics….
