Here’ the list of summer technology projects/moves/outages that will impact each school for the summer of 2014. This list is based on information available to us, as of April 1st, 2014.
District wide impact:
Updating Infinite Campus. Every summer, we update Infinite Campus after we are finished with state reporting. This usually happens around the last week of June. This years update of Infinite Campus will be significant, as we are told that the user interface and graphics/navigation will have changes. In addition, there will be changes to the instruction modules used by teachers. At this time, our understanding is that the existing grade book (that uses Java) will only be available for one more year at the most, and that the current grade book beta will be taking over.
Clive
June 25th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all wireless access points at Clive on this day.
Crossroads Park
June 30th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all wireless access points at Crossroads Park on this day.
Crestview
June 24th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all wireless access points at Crossroads Park on this day.
Fairmeadows
Tuesday, April 1st. Outside underground work begins to prepare for re-routing of the fiber optics that brings services to FM. There will be NO outages today – just fyi that crews will outside the building working.
Saturday, April 5th. No computer, internet, wireless or phones at FM, as outside fiber optics work is being done to prepare the building for this summer’s construction work.
Last few weeks of May: Classroom projectors are being unmounted from the ceiling and being stored for the summer. Also, computer lab and classroom computers are being moved to the gym. As soon as school is out, the equipment will be moved off site for summer storage.
July 1st: Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at FM on this day.
Hillside
June 27th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at Hillside on this day.
Jordan Creek
Last few weeks of May: Classroom projectors are being unmounted from the ceiling and being stored for the summer. During this time, classroom computers will also be moved to the gym for summer storage.
After the last day of school: The fiber optics lines that provide service to the building will be moved and pulled aside during the construction. This means that throughout the duration of the construction there will be no computer access at all… no computers, no internet, no wireless, no phone services. Services will be restored at the end of the construction process, a specific date for restoring service has not been set.
Phenix
Mid to late June: We are expecting to be in Phenix to move our classroom technology to redistribute for other needs starting in mid to late June. Since there are summer programs still running at Phenix, we will be leaving the network, wireless, and phone services up and running through the summer, until an official cutoff date is set.
Westridge

Western Hills
June 26th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at WH on this day.
Rex Mathes
June 30th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at Rex Mathes on this day.
Indian Hills
June 24th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at IH on this day.
Stilwell
June 25th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at ST on this day.
Valley Southwoods
June 27th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at Hillside on this day.
WCC
June 27th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at WCC on this day.
Valley Stadium
June 27th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at Valley Stadium on this day.
Valley High School
June 5th, Move computers out of all band practice rooms, store in main band hall. Move computers out of CAD and existing ESL offices to storage. Move out business classroom. Removal of projectors from rooms that start construction.
June 23rd, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at Valley High School on this day.
July, Athletics moves to new office
After Aug 1, Move back into band area, CAD lab, and business. Move in Yearbook and ESL from storage. Complete projector installs in approx 7 to 8 rooms that just finished construction.
Learning Resource Center
June 27th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at LRC on this day.
Operations
June 25th, Limited wireless access, as we are replacing all of the wireless access points at Operations on this day.
