Google Classroom is open to our district. . . .FINALLY!!!! I’ve been waiting all summer for this news & hoping that it would open before school started. My wish has been granted just in time.
If you are interested in learning more I will demonstrate Google Classroom at 9AM Tuesday in the Valley High School Media Center. I will also be available to answer questions & help you get it set up.
WHAT IS IT?
Google Classroom is a learning management system. It will help you manage workflow in your classroom. You can create and share documents easily with students & they can turn them right back in to you. The entire system works easily with Google Drive & Gmail.
WHO SHOULD USE IT?
Anyone really. However, I’d recommend being comfortable with Google Docs/ Drive first. You need to understand how documents are shared & how collaborative work can be done. If you are comfortable with using Google Drive, I’d recommend starting your semester with Google Classroom.
CAN I LEARN ABOUT IT LATER?
If you’re not ready for it, that’s OK.
- There will be Google 101 sessions on our PD day (September 15) and there will be sessions about Google Classroom also.
- Finally, here’s a document with a list of resources that I used to learn about it. So, feel free to browse & use on your own time. If you find more resources, please add to it! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aGz0uIrnIJb4y-pCU-AtiJvzN41k1SRC88WiPDuB3Aw/edit?usp=sharing
